What is a Scholarship Coach?

Does the idea of applying for the EKO Scholarship seem overwhelming? Or maybe you have a question about the application, or just want to check in to be sure your application is all you want it to be.

You may be interested in speaking with Charlene, she's an independent scholarship Coach whose career as a high school educator and administrator was dedicated to student success. Like a sports coach, Charlene will give you guidance that will help you showcase your skills and interests and show how these link to your future aspirations for learning and your career. She will also help you find the best ways to organize your application and keep track of application deadlines.

Watch the videos below to learn from Charlene and Wesley, 2017 EKO Scholar, about what you can expect from the application and review process.

Conversations from coaching sessions will not be shared with any members of the Review Committee so as not to influence, in any way, committee decisions.

Interested? Contact scholarshipcoachEKO@gmail.com to set up an appointment to meet on Zoom. It’s that easy!

Each EKO Scholarship applicant has the opportunity to connect with Charlene for two 30-minute sessions.

We strive to make this application process open, safe, inviting and effective for all applicants, but we don't always get it right. We hope you will let Charlene know if you have any questions or suggestions that will help us improve the experience for you and other students.
