We are accepting abstracts for concurrent session presentations and the Poster Presentation for the EKO Spring Symposium 2027 until October 9, 2026.

Note: Please ensure all research will be complete by April 1, 2027.

For concurrent sessions: Presentations will be 45 minutes. Please limit presenters to a maximum of four, allowing each speaker time to complete the full presentation.

Criteria for abstracts

Do you have this information to include in your abstract?

Basis of inquiry/intro—
Is there a hook?

You identify the problem and rationale for this direction/approach

 

Purpose/objective/aim—  Do these jump out?

You clearly state the purpose/objectives/aims
Hint: this needs to be a sentence that jumps out at the reader

 

Methods—
What, who, how?

You clearly state how you did your project and these should relate to the purpose/objective

  • If you're presenting a research project: Describe design, sample, how you measured outcomes, if there was an intervention, what it was, and how you analyzed results
  • If you're presenting a Quality Improvement or Evidence Based Practice project: Explain what you did to change a system (the intervention) and how you measured outcomes
  • If you're presenting an educational project: Describe the educational intervention, who was focus of intervention, and how learner outcomes were measured

 

 

Findings/Outcomes—
What did you find?
What does it mean?

 

You logically and concisely state the findings/outcomes and relate them to the objectives/aims and methods

  • If research: Present summary results (outcomes) and  comment on how this may influence nursing practice.
  • If Quality Improvement: Present outcomes of project and  implications for practice
  • If Practice or Education program evaluation: Summarize outcomes of the educational  program
