Help shape the future of children’s developmental healthcare

April 01, 2026

EKO seeks candidates to serve as board directors

We’re on a mission to transform children’s health in Ontario by expanding access to the developmental healthcare that is foundational to lifelong health.

Through advocacy and representation, thought leadership, knowledge exchange, and innovation Empowered Kids Ontario-Enfants Avenir Ontario (EKO) advances developmental healthcare. We are the voice of our growing membership of the publicly supported, community-based health agencies that provide the clinical care and programs to kids with disabilities and developmental needs and their families so they can live their best lives.

EKO is currently seeking candidates to fill three (3) positions on the EKO Board of Directors. Directors attend six board meetings a year, including at least one in-person board meeting, and consult on matters related to their area of expertise. New directors serve a three-year term beginning in the fall and may serve one subsequent term.

We invite visionary leaders to apply and help shape the future for the one in six Ontario kids with disabilities and developmental needs, their families, and their communities.

The EKO Nominating & Governance Committee leads the nomination process which is focused on recruiting individuals who collectively bring the diverse set of skills, experiences, competencies, and attributes necessary to guide the association forward. EKO’s Board of Directors seeks individuals with experience in legal and regulatory matters, health administration/leadership, and government and government relations.

Candidates must submit an expression of interest and a resume and must complete a skills matrix. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview with the EKO Nominating & Governance Committee.

EKO affirms its commitment to creating an equitable and inclusive environment that promotes the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion. We welcome applications from members of racialized groups, women, Indigenous Peoples (First Nations, Métis, and Inuit), persons with disabilities, persons of various sexual orientations and gender identities, and anyone who can contribute to diversifying the ideas that support EKO’s mission to lead, develop, and advance developmental healthcare.

Any questions may be forwarded to Caroline Davidson (cdavidson@empoweredkidsontario.ca)

The deadline for submission is 11:59 PM on Friday June 12, 2026.
