Kevin J. Collins Announced as new Chair of Empowered Kids Ontario Board of Directors
November 11, 2025
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin J. Collins as the new Chair of Empowered Kids Ontario’s Board of Directors. Collins has served on the EKO Board since November 2021 and takes the role of chair for a two-year term. He succeeds Tina Langlois, who had served as chair from November 2023 to November 2025.
“Kevin brings a legacy of distinguished leadership in the developmental healthcare sector, and an exceptional dedication to equity and access to care for kids with disabilities and developmental needs,” says Langlois.
“It’s a privilege to be a part of such an important voice in children’s healthcare,” says Collins. “I look forward to working with EKO Board directors, with government, and with interest holders, to deepen connections and continue building a stronger continuum of care and promising future for all Ontario kids who need and benefit from the developmental healthcare our members provide.”
Collins is President and Chief Executive Officer of Easter Seals Ontario and a seasoned executive with more than 30 years of experience in advancing organizational goals. He brings deep marketing and operational experience and is well-regarded for implementing effective fundraising strategies to ensure the organization’s ability to deliver essential programs and services to support children and youth with physical disabilities across Ontario.
With a strong commitment for supporting children and youth with physical disabilities, Collins is actively involved in addressing issues around accessibility and inclusivity as part of the Board of Trustees at Bloorview School Authority and the Board of Governors at Georgian College.
“As EKO’s membership continues to grow along with the association’s mandate to evolve, activate, and elevate, we will be well-supported by Kevin’s trusted guidance and strategic insights into the province’s children’s healthcare system,” says Jennifer Churchill, EKO President & CEO. “We are fortunate to have Kevin’s leadership at this critical point in EKO’s ongoing evolution, as we advance our members’ shared vision for kids with disabilities and developmental needs and their families living their best lives.”
“As we welcome Kevin into this new role, I would also like to thank Tina Langlois,” adds Churchill. “Over her six years on EKO’s Board of Directors, Tina made extraordinary contributions. She was instrumental in helping the association and our members navigate past the pandemic. As Board Chair, Tina’s leadership is evident in our bold new seven-year strategic plan that will write the next successful chapter in EKO’s history.”
