EKO seeks candidates for volunteer Board of Directors

June 28, 2021

Empowered Kids Ontario-Enfants Avenir Ontario (EKO) is seeking candidates for our Board of Directors, for a three-year term beginning November 2021.

For more than 40 years, EKO has been a leading voice for evidence-based policy, programs and investment in child development and rehabilitation. The association supports members through advocacy, engagement and learning, building capacity to serve kids with disabilities and their families, providing thought leadership to ensure kids with disabilities and their families live their best lives, and advancing the reputation of Ontario’s child development and rehabilitation sector. We work extensively with government, non-profit partners and business to coordinate and encourage the delivery of services in new and innovative ways.

Strong voices at our Board table are integral to leading EKO in today’s complex health and social care environment. We are seeking directors to advance the association's strategic priorities, the diversity of our stakeholders, and the on-going demands of today’s world.

The EKO Board functions in a setting in which challenging issues are respectfully addressed. Variety of thought and perspective is essential to achieving our goals.

We are seeking individuals who are passionate and have a strong commitment to EKO’s mission, vision and values, and who bring the skills and experience in:

Managing strategic direction, financial performance, and risk management needs of an organization

  • Business development
  • Entrepreneurship and innovation
  • Governance and policy oversight
  • Human Resources management

As a client, caregiver, service provider, or policy maker in the child development and rehabilitation sector

EKO welcomes the unique contributions that candidates can bring in terms of their professional and lived experience, and encourages applications that represent the communities they serve.

If you would like to volunteer your time to make a meaningful contribution to ensuring kids with disabilities and their families live their best lives, we would like to hear from you. Please:
