EKO is committed to ongoing learning about creating physical and digital spaces where everyone can feel safe and included. We can’t know exactly what will make all EKO Spring Symposium 2027 delegates feel most comfortable, but here are some things we’re trying.
- Online forms can be completed in writing or by uploading audio files
- Digital content is designed for clarity, legibility, screen reader compatibility, and user experience and control
- The EKO Spring Symposium Access Coordinator is available at all times leading up to and during the event
- Accessible parking options
- Multiple elevators and/or step-free access to all event spaces
- Event staff, lighting and signage to ensure pathways are clear and accessible amenities are easy to find
- Breaks and travel time built into the program
- Accessible washrooms
- Variety of seating options
- Spacious seating and room arrangements for comfortable movement
- Live captions for all plenary sessions
- Meal options for those with dietary restrictions
If there are more measures you think we should be taking, you are more than welcome to let us know by emailing info@empoweredkidsontario.ca. We would also like to hear about any barriers to your personal experience at the EKO Spring Symposium 2027.
