The 2022 EKO Scholars were selected through a competitive process. They are recognized for their academic achievement, their inspirations, and their plans to share their talents, knowledge and skills. This year’s EKO Scholars are honour roll students, experienced advocates, a medal-winning hockey player, a new citizen of Canada, an accomplished musician and cell biology researcher, and a Mattel Toys Role Model.
To be considered for the EKO Scholarship, applicants were asked to describe their career goals and what influenced them. This year’s recipients are studying nursing, industrial design, social work, early childhood education, and law—all at Ontario colleges and universities. We look forward to seeing the impact they will make in their chosen fields, and on our collective welfare.
While our 2022 Scholars have different personal interests, academic pursuits and experiences, there is a consistent theme: the strength of young Ontarians who establish personal goals, set high expectations, and choose to contribute in positive ways to society.
